The Purple Book Monster

I love to read books on the side as a hobby. I don't really review much, but I want to try. I'm a bit scared of it, but hopefully I will improve as I go.

Forever Princess - Meg Cabot My favorite book out of the whole series. I felt like they were progressively getting better because I could see that Mia changed throughout the whole series. It touches on the topic of sex quite a bit through the last couple of books and especially this one for sure.

The Princess Diaries, Volume VI: Princess in Training

Princess in Training - Meg Cabot Favorite one in the series so far.
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green I wish there was a 4.5 option, because I really really liked it but it wasn't enough to make it amazing. I feel like the hype I got from others before reading it made me expect more. My friends said it would mad me sob, and I have to admit it didn't but it did make me sad. A note here before I continue, I normally don't literally cry over books but I do tend to rage so I ended up flipping boxes and other items, which actually did happen. I have to say, I have never read a book about characters with cancer before so it was definitely different. If I happen to read more in the future and I decide to re-read this one, who knows, maybe I might just turn it into 5 stars.

Article 5

Article 5 - I felt it was very predictable though in most parts (I've been reading dystopian novels a lot lately), maybe I'm just waiting for an author who can make a twist. I really think if it wasn't written around just the two characters that I might have enjoyed it more because the world of this dystopian novel is very interesting. Regardless, I liked it because I'm a sucker for anything with some romance of some sort.
Brisingr - Christopher Paolini I had issues getting into the book until the second half but then it started getting good. I assume the lack of action probably was the cause. I hope that the fourth book will be able to keep my interests long enough.
City of Lost Souls - Cassandra Clare Cassandra Clare has done it again, I have so emotions from reading this book. I'll type something better up later instead of freaking out all over this review,
Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare I was a bit worried at first, but after seeing a bunch of emotions everyone on tumblr that I felt it was going to be really good. I was not disappointed at all and the crazy love triangle left my emotions running all over the place. I have to say, this sequel is definitely worth the read.
XVI - Julia Karr I had not planned on deviating from reading my other books in favor of this one. The summary and plot idea sucked me in to reading it. After reading the reviews of my fellow readers, I have to agree in a way of how it did not exceed my expectations. So, I am giving it a three star. When I started reading, I was very excited. After a while, I lost slight interest except when there was action or an intense moment. Otherwise, it did not keep me sucked in. All I wanted to do in the end was finish the book. I still plan to read the sequel regardless to know what happens next. Although I want to read the sequel, a cliffhanger would have been good at the end. Otherwise, I see less people wanting to finish the series because one could practically finish at the end of this novel.I really hope authors who start writing dystopian novels actually put more work into it. Otherwise, it will be like the supernatural kick with crappy writings that I have to sift through.

Beautiful Chaos (Beautiful Creatures Series #3)

Beautiful Chaos - Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia I can't get through this book, so I am sticking it in the incomplete pile.
Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick I think I was expecting a bit more of the supernatural side in this book, so therefore a little disappointment. Yet, the romance was there and being a sucker for it I got into the book. Read June, 10, 2010Read November 5, 2011
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #2) - Ann Brashares Re-read in October 2011

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Book 1)

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - Ann Brashares Re-Read in October 2011
City of Bones - Cassandra Clare I tried to keep away from this book but... that pretty much didn't happen. It was worth the read and hopefully get my hands on the next one.----October 11, 2011Read it again.
The Dead-Tossed Waves - Carrie Ryan The story continues from where Mary's adventure to Gabry, Mary's daughter. The world is still full of Mudo/Unconsecrated/Zombies and her encounter with them changes her world. After reading [b:The Forest of Hands and Teeth|3432478|The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1)|Carrie Ryan|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41q8PcJO1mL._SL75_.jpg|3473471], I was not sure how I was going to like the series. I can't review as much as I'd like about this story because I have not read the first one in such a long time. Its been about a year but I have to say I really like the second installment. Therefore, the third installment will definitely be on my list to read next.
Complete Tales and Poems - Edgar Allan Poe I myself is not a huge Poe fan and I tend to struggle reading is works. I did two stars because I thought he was okay but I did not particularity like his works. Although that might be in my case, it should not deter you from reading his works. I really only read this because it was for a World Literature class and I did not read all the works.Overall, give Poe a try because he is one of the most influential writers and he inspires many writers. You also might enjoy his works more if you get into a discussion because you can hear ideas that I never would have thought about.

The Scar (New Crobuzon Series #2)

The Scar - China Miéville I have to say it was a really tough read for me. I am glad I got through it though and it was definitely not what I expected. I'm so-so at predicting what would happen and I kept getting my predictions wrong throughout most of the book. I would recommend it if you are up to the challenge.
